Since Big News does a brand new show every Sunday night at 9, you don’t think a little award show taking place this Sunday night a mile west on Hollywood Boulevard will stop us, do you?

Of course not!

So don’t let the Oscars stop you from catching this week’s installment of Los Angeles’ longest-running news-based comedy show!

But if you’re planning on coming to the show this Sunday, you’re probably concerned about traffic, parking restrictions, street closures and other accommodations made for the Academy. So we’ve compiled a handy list of information we’ve found so you can enjoy this Sunday’s show without worrying about your car getting towed!!

PARKING

The good news is by showtime, most of the earlier parking restrictions on streets like Cahuenga and Vine should be lifted. The following restrictions will still be in place until midnight:

NO PARKING/STOPPING SUNDAY UNTIL MIDNIGHT:

- Hollywood west of Cahuenga - both sides
- Hollywood between Cahuenga and Vine - north side
- Sunset between Detroit and Vine - both sides

STREET CLOSURES:

The Highland offramp from the 101 South will be closed all day Sunday, as will Highland and Hollywood in the vicinity of the Kodak Theater. If you are coming from the Valley and would normally take the Highland exit to get to iO West, you should take Vine or Gower instead. For more information about street closures, click here.

MASS TRANSIT OPTIONS

While the Hollywood and Highland Metro stop will be closed all day Sunday, the stop on Vine, conveniently located just two blocks east of iO West, will be open. So if you are near a Metro stop, or even want to park and ride, that might be a great option. For more information, you can check here.

It’s probably not a bad idea to give yourself a little extra time Sunday to make sure you find parking and get to the theater on time. But don’t miss Big News and all the other great shows this Sunday night. You’re guaranteed to have a better time than you will watching a bloated awards ceremony - and all the best clips from the Oscars will be on YouTube Monday anyway!
