After making remarks critical of President Obama, General Stanley McChrystal resigned Wednesday from his post as commander of the war in Afghanistan. Upon hearing the news, thousands of American soldiers in Afghanistan started criticizing the president, in the hopes that they would also be removed from their posts.

On Monday, Larry King hosted a telethon on CNN to benefit victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. In response, Fox News will air a telethon to benefit BP executives.

The longest tennis match in history ended Thursday after three days of play when American John Isner beat Frenchman Nicolas Mahut. The match concluded when Mahut remembered he was French and surrendered.
